Torna - Also know as Prachandagad.
Torna fort is a fort situated in Pune District and its trek starts from velhe. Situated at its base. The fort is about 50 km via Pabe Ghat Southwest of Pune in the Western Ghats of the Sahyadri Mountain ranges as the base village Velhe. One can go from Pune via Satara Road and take right at Nasarapur Village. This distance is near about 65 km. It is highest fort in Pune District. In 1646, King Shivaji Maharaj captured this fort at age of sixteen. This was the first fort for the Maratha Empire forming the nucleus of the Maratha Empire. Torna Fort also Known as Prachandgad. King Shivaji changes the name of this fort from Prachand Gad to the Torna. And constructed several monuments and towers within it the Zunzar Machi, Budhala Machi, is very strongly built. Overall the whole fort is strongly built. There is a temple a Top, plenty of water. The hill has an evaluation of 1,403 meters (4,603 ft.) above sea level, making the highest hill-fort in the district.
